Face it: You’ll probably never be able to skate like Tony Hawk. That dude’s been grinding for decades. But what you can do, is seek his advice–and perhaps memorizes a circumstance or two.
In the most recent occurrence of WIRED’s Tech Support–this time dubbed Skate Support–the 49 -year-old pro skater answered questions from Twitter about how to execute eggplants, 540 McTwists, and boardslides. He even offered up tips-off on how to assemble the perfect timber. But unlike most advice-givers on video segments, he too demonstrated how to do each thing, often on a half-pipe. Hawk even had advice for kinfolks who want to get into skating later in life. “Just start slow, ” he said. “I don’t think it’s ever too late to start–and it’s a great space of exercise.”
Check out all of Hawk’s advice for skaters young and old-fashioned above.
